The Clean Ocean Project is a non-governmental organization based on Fuerteventura. It was founded in 2000 to protect the oceans, waves and beaches. Our approach is simple, we are driven by the idea that everybody is part of the problem - and the solution. Do your bit, be part of it.
Wim Geirnaert came to Fuerteventura in 1993. The northshore with it’s beautiful scenery formed out of volcanic rocks became his playground. Somehow the rough coastline looks indestructible but it isn’t. It’s a fragile ecosystem. The beaches were dirty, something had to be done. He invited his the friends and together they they cleaned the beach in Cotillo. The Clean Ocean Project was born.

Kaffee gebrüht mit Einweg-Kaffeekapseln aus Plastik und Aluminium ist nicht nur viel teurer, es ist auch eine Verschwendung von wertvollen Rohstoffen. Die Wiederverwertung ist aufwendig und kostspielig und es gibt kein Recyclingsystem das wirklich einwandfrei funktioniert. Schick verpackt, teuer verkauft und lässig cool inszeniert von Prominenten wie George Clooney, Robbie Williams oder Christian Ulmen sind Einweg-Kaffeekapseln aus Plastik und Aluminium das Lifestyle Produkt schlechthin.
Das Ergebnis: die meisten Einweg-Kaffeekapseln landen auf der Müllkippe und schließlich auch in der Natur und im Meer.
Geniesse Kaffee ohne Müll. Daher stellen wir in unserem Ferienhaus in Heidkate unseren Gästen auch keine Kapsel-Kaffeemaschine zur Verfügung, sondern eine Filterkaffeemaschinde der Marke "Moccamaster" und eine klassische italienische Bialetti. Und die machen ohnehin den viel leckererern Kaffee.
